Free Workshop for Colorado Divorce & Family Law
	Schedule. The free Workshops are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays: February 17, 2006; 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007; 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2007; 5:45 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007, 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007; 9:30 a.m. Space is limited to 25 attendees. Please call and register. (303) 804-9898. The workshop will held at our office at 7700 E. Arapahoe Road, #255, Centennial, CO 80112. This is about 2/3 of a mile west of I-25, which is about 15 miles south of downtown Denver.

About the Colorado Divorce and Family Law Workshop

Workshops are held each week on the most important Colorado divorce and family law issues. There is no charge or obligation. The format will be a traditional seminar format. Questions will be taken and answered. The seminar handouts include our Colorado Divorce and Family Law Handboodk, child support examples, and a package of the standard court documents.

Seminar Topics

The following topics will be included in the workshop discussion:

• Uncontested divorce, including filing requirements and court procedure;
• Divorce with Dignity;
• Status conferences, and orders to mediate;
• Disclosure and documentation requirements;
• Contested divorce, including hearings (trial);
• Child support, maintenance (alimony), parenting time, income for support;
• Division of property and debt; retirement assets, and QDRO;
• Income tax effects;
• Selling the marital home, or refinancing it if one of the spouses keeps it;
• How to hire an attorney, mediator, or other professional;
• Mediation and other less expensive forms of dispute resolution; and
• How to keep attorney fees and other professional fees at a minimum.

About the Instructor

		With an advanced law degree in taxation (1992), Colorado attorney Maurice Johnson practices in divorce/family law, mediation, trust and estate planning and administration, probate, taxation, pension, business, real estate, general litigation, and appeals. Prior to beginning his law practice in 1994, he worked as an associate attorney for other law firms in the same practice areas.
